This workshop will cover the basic stitches and actions you need to get started on your crochey journey. We tailor it to each crocheter's needs and focus on the building blocks needed for any crochet pattern. Our aim is for our crafters to leave with an understanding of how to hold the yarn, some basic stitches, and decifering the beginnings of a pattern so you can leave ready to take your next crochet steps, either with us in a future workshop or at home.

All of our workshop attendees get access to a post workshop video covering the things we have learned as well as a printed guide. We keep classes purposefully small so that everyone gets the individual attention they need.

By making our own classic Granny Squares, we will be learning how to read and follow a pattern as well as starting to learn how to "read" our crochet work to troubleshoot when we are out of the class. As always, the class is accompanied by a stitch guide as well as a video recap of the content of the class. This class incorporates chain, double crochet and slip stitches (US terms).

If participants would like to learn how to create a magic circle, we can do this as well as a optional extra. You will leave the class with an understanding of how Granny Squares are constructed as well as skills in key crochet stitches which are transferable to so many projects.

Once you can make a Granny Square, you can use this as the basis of so many projects from blankets, to cardigans, to headbands!
