Crochet Granny Squares

23rd of April 6-8pm

£28

All materials and post-class support included

Want to move beyond the basics? Learn to make a classic Granny Square. In this workshop, we’ll make our own traditional Granny Squares while building confidence in following a written pattern and learning how to “read” your crochet — so you can spot and fix mistakes once you’re working at home. This class includes chain, double crochet and slip stitch (US terms). If you’d like to learn how to create a magic circle, we can cover that as an optional extra during the session. By the end of the workshop, you’ll: • Understand how Granny Squares are constructed • Feel more confident following a pattern • Be able to troubleshoot common mistakes • Strengthen stitches that transfer to countless other projects Once you can make a Granny Square, the possibilities are endless - blankets, cardigans, bags, headbands and more. All attendees receive a printed stitch guide and access to a video recap after the class. As always, class sizes are kept small to ensure everyone receives individual support. If you’re unsure whether this class is the right step for you, just get in touch and we can talk it through.

Intro to Crochet for Beginners

24th of April 6-8pm

£28

All materials and post-class support included

This workshop will cover the basic stitches and actions you need to get started on your crochet journey. We tailor it to each crocheter's needs and focus on the building blocks needed for any crochet pattern. Our aim is for our crafters to leave with an understanding of how to hold the yarn, some basic stitches, and decifering the beginnings of a pattern so you can leave ready to take your next crochet steps, either with us in a future workshop or at home. All of our workshop attendees get access to a post workshop video covering the things we have learned as well as a printed guide. We keep classes purposefully small so that everyone gets the individual attention they need. If you have any questions about any of our workshops, don't hesitate to get in touch This workshop is held at The Secret Brew (formerly Lattes&Leotards) in Newhails Business Park.

At Ishra Makes, we believe in the joy of making something by hand.

Every stitch, knot, and loop is crafted with care – using materials we’ve chosen thoughtfully and that fit with our values of sustainability and quality, and by using techniques passed down, shared, and learned over time. Whether you join us for a workshop, book a private party, pick up a kit, or choose a finished piece, you’re part of a slower, more meaningful way of creating.

We’re here to help you find the satisfaction in making, and to make sure you always feel supported along the way.
